25-Я ГОДОВЩИНА ВОЕННО-МОРСКИХ ВООРУЖЕННЫХ СИЛ УКРАИНЫ!

On July 2 in Odesa and other points of departure, solemn events were held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

  For the first time the Naval Day of Ukraine was celebrated in Sevastopol on August 1, 1997. On this day, the former ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the USSR Navy, which became part of the Navy of Ukraine, were solemnly raised by the naval flags of Ukraine. The Army Day of the Navy was established at the request of the Military Council of the Naval Forces, in honor of the first large-scale exercises of the Ukrainian military fleet "Sea-96" (July 30 - August 1, 1996), by a decree of the President of August 17, 1996.

  According to the Chief of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, today the Ukrainian Navy is confidently moving forward, increasing the military potential. He noted that the fleet in its assets has combat experience, which, combined with participation in peacekeeping operations, greatly enhances the professionalism of the personnel.
