Fleet Day of Ukraine

 This day is a professional holiday of workers of Ukrainian national scale fleet, which was introduced by the first president of independent Ukraine. Date of the celebration is constantly changing heads of state. 

 In 1999, June 29 Leonid Kravchuk signed a decree № 236 "On the bottom of sea and river fleet," according to which this day was devoted to seamen of our country. But in 2006, Viktor Yushchenko has decided to establish a presidential decree Ukrainian Navy Day and celebrate it every year on the first Sunday of July. Now it decided to celebrate the last Sunday in July in conjunction with the day of the Navy of the Russian Federation, respectively, with the decision of Viktor Yanukovych. 

 Osnovopolozhnym to select the date was a historic event in June and July distant 907, when Prince of Kiev, Oleg led marine expedition under Constantinople and won.
